Four luxury food and drink producers and a bin-maker intent on lifting recycling levels, have done well in Deloitte’s list of the fastest growing manufacturers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every year the”Big Four” accounting firm compiles a list of the fastest-growing companies across the country beginning in September by naming regional growth superstars, naming its national winners in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Niche manufacturing is key to lifting New Zealand’s exports, and premium food and drink has provided many of the fastest-growing manufacturers and exporters on Deloitte’s regional rankings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the deep South, Invercargill’s Blue River Dairy, which specialises in sheep milk, cheese and infant formulas was named both fastest-growing manufacturer and fastest-growing exporter in the lower South Island region<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Goodbuzz, the kombucha maker, won topped the manufacturing list in the central North Island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the upper North Island, the fastest-growing manufacturer was the Pure Food Company, which is on a mission to provide nutritious meals to older people at home and in care facilities in a bid to end a little-recognised epidemic of malnourishment among older people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But there are some smart non-food manufacturers breaking through.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The lower North Island’s fastest-growing manufacturer was Method Recycling, which makes sets of colour-coded bins for offices allowing companies to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill, while lifting their recycling and composting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And in the central North Island, trampoline maker Jumpflex was named the fastest-growing exporter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But New Zealand is also producing a growing number of promising, globally-scaleable technology companies, some of which are already transforming aspects of consumers’ lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the lower North Island Integrated Technologies, whose technology was behind the rise in automated petrol stations was the fastest-growing tech company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Deloitte private partner Bill Hale said this year’s regional winners showcased business success throughout the country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“These results clearly demonstrate that there are a diverse range of businesses all across New Zealand that are achieving outstanding growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
