FoodCare Training

Welcome to FoodCare® Training. This series of online training modules is designed to help you learn more about the nutrition challenges your residents may face and how you can provide them with the best possible care.

The training begins with a few introductory courses, followed by more advanced topic-specific modules.

Introduction Training

Learn about the basics for nutrition care, including malnutrition, dysphagia and food presentation as and also learn more about Pure Food.

Hydration Training

Learn everything you need to know about hydration and how you can make sure the people in your care stay hydrated and healthy.

Advanced Nutrition Care

Learn about screening and care plan development, food and fluid fortification, problems with eating and swallowing and mealtime assistance.

FoodCare Introduction Training

The Introduction Training is made up of five sections, split into two parts. Each subject contains videos with insights and quizzes to test your understanding and tools for addressing specific challenges. The sections vary in length, but none should take more than 15-20 minutes to complete.

Get a Certificate

You can earn a certificate for this FoodCare Introduction Training by completing all five sections and scoring at least 80% in each. The confirmation page you will see once you've submitted your responses will tell you exactly how many points you need to pass and you can then view your score to check.

If you have not passed the quiz, you can easily repeat the training session at any time.  

Who Developed this Training

The content for these training modules was developed by two of our expert advisors, Dietitian Kaye Dennison and Speech Language Therapist Renee Taylor, with support from our Dietitians Jess Bowden and Nicole Taylor.

In this training, you will learn about screening and care plan development, food and fluid fortification, problems with eating and swallowing and mealtime assistance. All of this will help you provide better care for the people you look after.
